Regarding Incidents at Pitman High School

On Friday Feb 11th, 2022, Superintendent Dr. Patrick McAleer emailed parents regarding 3 incidents involving racial or religious bias that occurred this week. A classroom desk was vandalized with a swastika, and two notes including hate speech were found in the high school.

The incidents were reported to the Pitman Police Department, and teachers met with students to reiterate that hate has no home in Pitman.

PARC reaffirms Dr. McAleer’s message condemning “all acts of hate, intolerance, and violence”, and that … “these expressions are harmful to the well-being of all students and staff.”

PARC also calls upon the District to make comprehensive Diversity, Equity and Inclusion training that includes faculty, administration, staff and students a priority.  We implore the district to fully fund this training and to begin this work promptly.

Please see Dr. McAleer’s full message below.  PARC will share more details as they are presented.
